Emerald-Valley secured our first official home on the 1st November 2011 in Newry's Digital Quarter, beside one of Ireland's most successful IT companies, First Derivatives. We have a co-working space, private offices and event space located at 17a Canal Street, Newry. We have created a home for startups in the region; become a member of the Emerald-Valley and you will have access to the event space, gatherings, and cafe style meeting space with free WIFI and coffee on tap!

Our offical opening will happen at the end of January. Right now we are accepting applications to join the co-working space and two offices are still available. Our events schedule has already kicked off but we are keen to hear from you, our community about what events you would like to see in the new year.

Many areas of Newry and Mourne still do not have adequate broadband and a project is being discussed to address the issue of poor broadband especially in rural areas.

Nichola and Julie were out flying the Emerald-Valley flag at TechCrunch's Europa awards this week. It was a great opportunity to meet some of Europe's best and brightest startups. We had lots of interest in the Emerald-Valley concept, and it felt really good to spread the word that Northern Ireland is a great place to base your startup!
